Interested in Starting the Genealogy Hobby?

Annecestree: How do you do? I'm Anne, a self-taught Family Historian, proudly named for Anne of Green Gables. My maternal grandfather always told us family history stories, and we had many enjoyable walks and picnics in graveyards "meeting" the ancestors. When I started seriously into the genealogy hobby about 20 years ago, my maternal side "had been done" so I began with my paternal family, the Renwicks. There were only 3 other Renwicks in the phone book, and they were my uncles and grandparents, so how many could there be? Well, 20 years later, I have found hundreds of Renwicks (we come from a long line of Scottish shepherds), including now corresponding with cousins in Scotland and in Australia. I'm now also searching out the ancestors of my paternal grandmother, two aunts, some "honourary" family, and some friends. I love it!
